This week, the biggest event on all sports calendar, varsity, is back. A sporting competition between Christ Church University and the University of Kent is set reunite all students to cheer on their winning team.

Sport teams will compete with the hope to gain the most victories. With the matches being dotted around Canterbury, Christ Church sports teams need all the support they can find to being the Varsity Home this year.

“I am very excited, and looking forward to going to all matches. I hope we win this year,” said Amber Stark, a Christ Church student.

Varsity has been running in Kent since 2002 in the current format. 8 years in which Christ Church has never won the Varsity.

Charles Fidler, a member of the rugby team said: “Our rugby team has been training really hard all season and I do think we have a good chance of winning Kent this year. “

Regular shuttle buses will be running, from outside the Christ Church Student Union before the matches to take them to the grounds where the events will be taking place.

Support is all that is needed for the hope of bringing Varsity home this year.
