A year as a fresher

Starting University is a new challenge, taking on board new experiences and learning to become an individual. With most of first year out of the way, student circle has gathered some first year students at Christ Church University to tell us all bout their experiences as a fresher so far.

Student night at club Chemistry

Student Circle:  Hello and thank you for taking some time out to talk to us. How are you finding this first year at university?

Danielle Gardner: Its been such a good year. Living alone and meeting new people has been an awesome experience.

Tom Dearlove: Yes, its been a great time making new friends and going out.

Student Circle: What was your biggest fear before starting university and what was you looking forward to the most?

Danielle Gardner: I was a little scared of meeting new people on the very first night and to see who I was going to be living with.

Tom Dearlove: That's exactly like me! But I was really looking forward to leaving home and having the experience of living alone and making my own decisions.

Student Circle: So did you enjoy freshers week and did it live up to your expectations?

Student themed night
Danielle Gardner: Yes, freshers week was really fun. It was by far one of the best week spent at university which I won't forget.

Tom Dearlove: It was a good week but I think the performing acts were not that good compared to other university freshers week. But with a few drinks it was all a laugh.

Student Circle: How about academic wise, how have you been finding lectures and deadlines?

Danielle Gardner: Lectures have been alight. I've managed to keep up with deadlines but its definitely different from college we have to take more control.

Tom Dearlove: Yes I think this year lectures have been pretty straight forward. Sometimes if I leave it to the last minute but its all about organising your time to do work.

Student Circle: Thank you very much for your time. How would you sum up your first year as a fresher in one word?

Danielle Gardner: Amazing

Tom Dearlove: Radical
